    Hey Melissa,

I enjoyed your post today and this line stood out to me: Reading the Bible to get something for you is like only eating dessert at a meal. That is a great analogy and I admit I certainly do that some times. Thanks for sharing!

I also appreciated your points about inductive study, something I have done for years and have helped others to learn. Nothing like having the tools to learn from His word your self.

When you say we should never ask “what does this mean to me?” I am confused. That is what the application question is about, right? Do you mean we should not ask that until AFTER we had done the observation and interpretation? Clarification would be helpful.

Again, thanks for taking time to write and share!

Thanks for reading Kisa! I think when we ask “what does this mean TO me” we’re opening the door to many interpretations. One person can say it means this, while you say it means that. There is truly only one meaning to every verse, our job is to find the true meaning. However, we can ask what it means FOR me, or how it should apply to me. There are many applications, but only one interpretation. Does that make sense?

Hi Mrs.Danisi! You probably don’t remember me but you were my kindergarten teacher. I hope everything is going well, and I love your blog! 🙂

It’s so good to hear back from you!I really enjoy Japanese class! My teacher makes Japanese really easy for me and having a mom thats fluent in Japanese doesn’t hurt as well. 😉
